Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and AI Tiny Desk ("we", "us") for using ai-tiny-desk.com (the "Service"). By creating an account, uploading photos or buying credits, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old. You're responsible for your account and everything done with it, so keep your sign-in details safe.

2. What the Service does

You pick a template, upload photos, and our AI providers generate a short video that puts the people in your photos into a Tiny Desk–style scene. AI output can be imperfect: faces may look different, timing may drift, and people may appear in shots you didn't expect. Generation usually takes a few minutes but can take longer.

AI Tiny Desk is an independent fan project. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NPR or NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concerts. Template clips are short reference excerpts used for the meme format.

3. What you may upload

Before each video, you confirm that:

• every person in your photos is an adult who agreed to be in the video, or is you;
• you have the right to use the photos.

You may not upload, or use the Service to make:

• images of anyone under 18;
• images of celebrities, politicians or other public figures, or anything meant to impersonate a real person;
• sexual, violent, hateful or harassing content;
• content meant to deceive, defame, bully or embarrass someone, or to pass off a generated video as real footage;
• content that breaks any law or anyone else's rights, including privacy and image rights.

We may refuse, remove or stop processing content that breaks these rules, and suspend or close accounts that do. Where content clearly breaks the rules, no refund is owed.

4. Your content

You keep the rights you have in your photos. You give us a limited licence to store, process and send them to our AI providers, only to create your video and run the Service, for as long as we keep them (see the Privacy Policy).

You may use the videos you generate for personal, non-commercial purposes, such as sharing them with friends and on social media. The template footage and the Tiny Desk format belong to their owners, so don't use the videos commercially or in ways that suggest they're official.

Photos are deleted after 7 days, and videos after 30 days. Save anything you want to keep.

5. Sharing

Videos are private until you create a share link. Anyone with the link can watch the video until you turn sharing off or the video is deleted. Copies that people download or re-post are outside our control.

6. Credits and payment

• Credits are sold in one-time packs. There's no subscription and nothing renews.
• Credits don't expire while the Service operates. They have no cash value and can't be transferred.
• Each video uses credits based on its resolution, as shown before you generate. Prices may change, but changes never affect credits you already have.
• If a video fails to generate, its credits are returned automatically.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars.

7. Refunds

If you haven't used any credits from a pack, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of buying it. Email support@ai-tiny-desk.com from the address on your account. After you've used credits from a pack, it isn't refundable. This doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer law where you live. If we close the Service, we'll refund the unused credits you paid for.

8. Reporting misuse

If a video shows you without your consent, or breaks these rules, email support@ai-tiny-desk.com with the link. We'll review it and take it down when appropriate.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, pause or stop parts of the Service, including templates and AI providers. We try to keep the Service running, but we don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Service and its output are provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

You're responsible for what you upload and how you use the videos. If your content or use breaks these terms or someone's rights and leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the resulting costs.

11. Ending your account

You can stop using the Service at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@ai-tiny-desk.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms.
